MOGADISHU, Somalia — Acting Force Commander of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), Maj. Gen. Marius Ngendabanka, met today with Somalia’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Odowa Yusuf Rage, at the AUSSOM Force Headquarters in Mogadishu.
The two leaders discussed strategies to enhance coordination and advance joint operations aimed at countering the ongoing threat posed by the militant group Al-Shabaab.
The meeting focused on reinforcing military collaboration between the Somali National Army and AUSSOM forces.
The meeting was also attended by Maj. Gen. Peter Muteti, AUSSOM Deputy Force Commander in Charge of Support and Logistics, Brig. Gen. Kindu Gezu, AUSSOM Military Chief of Staff, and other senior military officers.
The talks are seen as a significant step in strengthening the operational capabilities of both forces in the fight against Al-Shabaab insurgents.
