MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdulsalaan Abdikadir Ali, today presided over the handover of leadership at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, transferring responsibilities from former Minister Mohamed Barre to the newly appointed Minister Mohamed Abdulqadir Ali.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Abdulsalaan urged the new minister to continue advancing the ministry’s efforts for the development of Somali youth and the sports sector.
He also expressed gratitude to the outgoing minister for his dedicated efforts during his tenure, particularly in enhancing the ministry’s services.
The Deputy Prime Minister further called on Somali youth to intensify their involvement in the fight against the Al-Shabaab insurgents.
He emphasized the importance of their participation in national security and the upcoming one-person, one-vote elections in Somalia.
