MOGADISHU, Somalia – Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Badar Abdul Aati, expressed his country’s full support for Somalia’s unity and independence. The visit marked a significant moment in bilateral relations, underscored by the inauguration of a direct flight line between the two nations.

 

Addressing a press conference, Minister Abdul Aati conveyed the greetings of Egyptian President Fatah Al-Sisi to President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and the Somali people. He extended his congratulations on Somalia’s recent election to the UN Security Council and lauded the nation on its Independence Day.

The Egyptian government emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and the respect for the principles of good neighborliness. Minister Abdul Aati stressed that Egypt is committed to standing by Somalia and assisting in all possible ways to ensure the preservation of its independence.
