MOGADISHU [SMN] – The Federal Election Implementation Team [FEIT] has asked the remaining three regional states – Puntland, HirShabelle, and Jubaland to start the Lower House election as soon as possible.
FEIT called on the State Election Implementation Teams [SEITs] to submit a report on the challenges that are delaying the schedule for the House of the People’s vote in 48 hours.
FEIT said the National Consultative Assembly will shoulder the responsibility for any further delays in the lower house election in the country.
In a statement, FEIT said it was working to conclude the election by December 24th but that there were significant setbacks to long-delayed Somalia’s election.
So far, Southwest, Somaliland, and Galmudug began the Lower House election with less than 30 members out of the 275 have been elected to the 11th Somali parliament.
