Mogadishu, Somalia – Former Somali presidents Abdikasim Salad Hassan, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, and Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo have jointly issued a warning against the illegal appropriation of public assets and land grabbing across the country.
In a rare unified statement, the former leaders expressed deep concern over the mismanagement and unlawful seizure of national resources, describing such acts as a threat to public trust, national stability, and the rule of law.
They called on judicial bodies, parliament, and government institutions to uphold constitutional mandates by thoroughly investigating allegations of corruption and land theft, and to ensure accountability for those involved.
“The looting of public land is a breach of the Somali constitution and national laws,”
The trio also urged Somali citizens to actively protect their land and public property, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding national resources for future generations.
