GURIEL [SMN] – Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qoorqoor) who is currently in Guriel town met with the district administration and community members.
The cabinet meeting was attended by traditional elders, intellectuals, businessmen, women, and youth of the area, who returned to the city in the last hours.
The president spoke to the people about the security situation, following the three days of fighting in the town and the withdrawal of Ahlu Sunna forces.
The President listened to the participants’ suggestions on how to move beyond the status quo in the city and thanked them for their support to the peace process, governance, and the unity of the people of Galmudug.
President Qoorqoor and a delegation led by him arrived in Guriel on Thursday afternoon, a day after the town was vacated by Ahlu Sunna forces who took over the town on the 1st of this month.
