MARKA [SMN] – An official says a landmine blast has occurred in the early hours of this morning in parts of the coastal town of Marka, the regional capital of Lower Shabelle.
The IED blast took place at a garage called Awale at the back of Marka Police Station.
Security forces in the city also arrived at the scene and conducted a brief search.
The situation is now calm and there is no word yet from the Marka district administration regarding the blast.
