MOGADISHU [SMN] – The Speaker of the Lower House Sheikh Adan Madobe met directors of the independent media houses in Mogadishu on Saturday ahead of the election.
Madobe said the media has a great responsibility at this stage of the election and in reporting on the results and urged them to live up to that responsibility.
Media executives, for their part, presented problems to the chairman by members of the Electoral Commission who barred the media from entering the election site.
The speaker told media leaders that their concerns would be addressed.
