MARKA, Lower Shabelle — Lower Shabelle’s newly appointed Governor, Abuubakar Abdalla Bashir, alongside the District Commissioner of Mark, Adanli Ahmed Mohamed, today paid an official visit to the AUSSOM Battle Group XLIII stationed at the Ceeljaale Forward Operating Base (FOB).
The delegation was warmly received by the Battle Group Commander, Colonel Robert Koch, who praised the strong security cooperation between district administrations, local communities, the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), and the Somali National Army (SNA).
Colonel Koch noted that effective coordination and joint security efforts have played a critical role in preventing major security incidents in Marka District. He emphasized the importance of sustained coordination and community-based intelligence sharing in strengthening security operations.
The commander further reaffirmed AUSSOM’s commitment, in collaboration with the SNA and partner agencies, to degrading the operational capabilities of Al-Shabaab across the Lower Shabelle region.
For his part, Mark District Commissioner Adanli Ahmed Mohamed pledged full support for AUSSOM forces in their ongoing security operations. Meanwhile, Governor Abuubakar Abdalla Bashir commended the partnership between AUSSOM troops and local communities, describing it as vital to maintaining peace and stability throughout the region.
