MOGADISHU [SMN] – The President of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, at a ceremony held at the State House, received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Finland to Somalia, Pirkka Tapiola.
The Ambassador of Finland, Mr. Tapiola, conveyed a message of greetings from the President of the Republic of Finland, Mr. Sauli Niinisto, and thanked the Government and people of Somalia for the warm welcome.
President Farmajo and Ambassador Tapiola discussed strengthening diplomatic ties between Somalia and Finland, which are based on cooperation and collaboration. Ambassador Tapiola commended the significant progress made by the Federal Government of Somalia and briefed the President on his efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two countries.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo shared with the new Ambassador the significant achievements made by the people and Government of Somalia in the reconstruction of the country, reconciliation, investment, the fight against terrorism and corruption.
Finally, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, congratulated the new Ambassador of Finland on his appointment and told him Somalia will continue to support him in fulfilling his diplomatic duties.
