Washington, D.C. – U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday received the credentials of Dahir Hassan Arab, Somalia’s newly appointed ambassador, at the White House, signaling a renewed effort to enhance relations between the United States and Somalia.
In their bilateral discussions, President Biden and Ambassador Arab delved into measures to fortify cooperation, prioritizing Somalia’s development agenda. They also addressed the Somali government’s programs designed to uplift the living standards of its populace.
A dispatch from the Somali news agency noted that Ambassador Arab conveyed greetings and commitments from Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, emphasizing Somalia’s resolve to deepen its partnership with the United States.
Ambassador Arab, in his recent public statements, has highlighted his ambition to elevate diplomatic relations. He has actively called upon the significant Somali diaspora in the U.S. to contribute to this diplomatic endeavor. “Our government is dedicated to fortifying our mutual relations, driving economic growth, and progressing in education,” Arab remarked.
