MOGADISHU – The Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Mahad Salad, hosted a farewell Iftar ceremony for Brigadier General Aden Mohamed Omar, following his recent appointment to lead the nation’s elite special forces.
General Omar, who previously served as the Assistant Director for Security at NISA, was recently named by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia as the Commander of the Somali National Army (SNA) Special Forces.
During the event held at NISA headquarters, Director Salad praised General Omar’s “distinguished role” in safeguarding national security and his contributions to the agency’s strategic operations. He expressed confidence in the General’s ability to lead the special forces, wishing him success in his new high-level military mandate.
The ceremony was attended by senior intelligence officials and government dignitaries, marking a formal transition for one of the country’s key security figures during the month of Ramadan.
