Prime Minister Roble held talks with candidates on the election

MOGADISHU [SMN] – The Prime Minister of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble called for a meeting with the presidential candidates in Mogadishu to discuss election issues.

This meeting came after the Candidates expressed concern over the lack of transparency in the ongoing elections in the country and how unsatisfied they are with the process.

The Prime Minister briefed the Candidate Leaders on his ongoing efforts to ensure the transparency of the elections and shared that he had instructed the Electoral Commissions to carry out their duties in accordance with the agreed electoral procedures.

The Prime Minister, taking into account the concerns expressed about the transparency of the elections by the Union of Candidates, the sentiments of the Somali people and the international community, promised that the National Consultative Assembly would convene to work together to ensure that the country’s elections occur efficiently and correct mistakes.

The Prime Minister said that the State and Federal Electoral Commissions will also convene a visionary meeting to discuss the transparency of the elections and stressed that all those who violate the transparency of the elections will be held accountable.
