Puntland president appoints a committee tasked with electoral dispute

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The president of the Puntland Said Abdullahi Deni has appointed a committee tasked with the Negotiation of the ongoing Electoral Affairs.

 

The President of Puntland has said that he has assessed the need to appoint a committee for the negotiation of the Electoral dispute with the opposition.

Based on the fact that in Puntland the Presidential Election and the House of Representatives, happen in the democratic process of one person and one vote.

President Deni said that the appointment of this committee was consulted by his Vice President, the Chairman of the House of Representatives, and the political parties.

The opposition has already refused to enter into a dialogue with Deni, saying that the president of Deni has already said that he will never discuss the election he wants with a person and vote.

The opposition is expected to produce an answer from the dialogue committee that the president issued, which is 7 members chaired by the minister of interior, Abdi Farah Juha.

This committee was selected by the president from his cabinet, and most of them are members who have a strong position in the election of people and votes.

The parties involved in the resolution of the election dispute are pressuring the conflicting parties to come together for dialogue so that a peaceful solution can be found to the dispute over the election issues.
