Mogadishu, Somalia — The Chairman of the National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mohamud Moalim Abdulle, hosted the Deputy President of Galmudug State, Ali Dahir Eid, in Mogadishu to discuss urgent humanitarian needs and economic development initiatives in the region.
The meeting focused on the worsening humanitarian conditions in parts of Galmudug, particularly areas close to the Ethiopian border.
Eid said many communities are facing dire situation, urging swift delivery of emergency aid to alleviate suffering.
He also emphasized the importance of leveraging Galmudug’s livestock resources to promote economic growth.
He proposed the construction of a modern meat processing and storage facility, which he said would create jobs and contribute significantly to the local economy.
Chairman Abdulle assured that SoDMA is committed to rapidly delivering relief aid to those affected by the crisis.
He also expressed willingness to partner with Galmudug authorities on the livestock facility project, noting that such initiatives would receive support from international donors and Somalia’s allied governments.
This meeting advances ongoing efforts to improve humanitarian response and access to emergency services for vulnerable communities.
