SODMA boss receives Minnesota State Representative in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Commissioner of Somalia’s Disaster Management Agency (SODMA), Mohamud Moallim Abdulle, today received Hodan Hassan, a member of the House of Representatives of Minnesota in the United States of America.

 

Abdulle explained to MP Hassan the work and mission of (SODMA) in response to devastating floods, and El Nino in the country which killed over 100 people and uprooted nearly two million.

MP Hodan listened to the report of the head of SODMA and promised that she would make a campaign in the Somali diaspora to get assistance to the people in need in Somalia.

Abdulle welcomed Hassan’s pledge and described it as an important step that can enhance the work of the Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) for the community.

The Deputy SODMA boss Dr Ahmed Abdi Adan, the Director of the Emergency Operations Center, and other SODMA officials were present at the meeting.

SODMA is responsible for responding to humanitarian situations in Somalia, warning of threats or foreseeable threats, and taking over assistance from various international partners.
