MOGADISHU, Somalia — In a move to strengthen humanitarian efforts within Somalia, Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) welcomed a delegation from Mercy Corps-Somalia, led by Daud Adan Jiran, at the agency’s headquarters.
The meeting, which took place recently, aimed to discuss strategies and ongoing projects related to disaster management and humanitarian aid.
The discussions likely covered the current challenges facing Somalia in terms of natural disasters and internal displacement, as well as potential collaborations between SoDMA and Mercy Corps to enhance relief efforts.
Mercy Corps-Somalia, known for its work in crisis response and sustainable development, could provide critical support in areas affected by drought, conflict, and other humanitarian crises within the country.
This engagement reflects SoDMA’s continuous efforts to collaborate with international NGOs to bolster its response capabilities and ensure efficient aid distribution to those in need across Somalia.
The outcomes of such meetings often lead to improved coordination, resource allocation, and policy development in disaster and emergency management.
