SoDMA Commissioner Meets with Jubaland State President Ahmed Madobe

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mahamuud Moallim, recently met with Jubaland State President Ahmed Madobe.

 

The discussions centered on various issues of mutual interest, including the collaboration between SoDMA and the Jubaland State in addressing humanitarian challenges and fostering disaster response efforts.

The meeting comes at a crucial time as both SoDMA and the Jubaland State have been actively involved in providing emergency relief and support to communities affected by the El-Nino-induced floods and other natural calamities.

The collaboration between the two entities is expected to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations in the region.

During the meeting, the officials discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in key areas, primarily in the humanitarian sector. This includes providing emergency relief to families affected by natural disasters, activating SoDMA’s vocational training center for disaster-prone communities, and assisting internally displaced persons (IDPs) in emergencies.
