MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Benadir Regional Court of Appeal has acquitted two former directors of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Abdullahi Mohamed Ali and Mohamed Adde Mukhtar, of corruption charges.

The Chairperson of the Court, Said Ali Mohamed, announced that the court found no evidence of guilt against the two former General Directors and ordered their immediate release.

The court’s decision comes after the two officials had been in prison for more than 3 months following their arrest in connection with alleged corruption within the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The court’s decision to acquit the two former directors was based on a thorough review of the evidence presented during the trial.

This ruling follows a similar decision made by the Benadir Regional Court a week earlier, in which the court acquitted officials from the Immigration agency of corruption charges.

The Benadir Regional Court of Appeal’s recent rulings demonstrate the judiciary’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that justice is served.

The court’s decisions to acquit the former directors reflect the court’s dedication to maintaining the integrity of the government and its institutions.
