MOGADISHU, Somalia – Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia, Salah Jama, chaired a high-level National Stabilization Coordination Meeting in Mogadishu on Sunday.
The meeting aimed to reflect on the achievements and lessons learned in the stabilization program, to improve and expedite resources for the previously liberated areas, and to reach more communities as security forces continue to secure new recovered territories.
The meeting was attended by federal and state leaders, United Nation’s representatives, international partners, and diplomatic missions, highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges and opportunities in the stabilization process.
The Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation hosted the second day of the National Stabilisation Coordination Meeting, emphasizing the importance of coordination and collaboration in achieving stabilization goals.
Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim from the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) also participated in the meeting, reflecting the government’s comprehensive approach to stabilization, which includes addressing humanitarian and disaster mitigation efforts alongside security and stabilization initiatives.
Deputy Prime Minister Jama expressed his gratitude to the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives to liberate communities, and emphasized the need for clear structures and coordination mechanisms to ensure the success of the stabilization program.
He also highlighted the government’s efforts to expedite service delivery in liberated areas and stabilize new areas as military operations continue to expel the terror group and expand into new territories.
The National Stabilization Coordination Meeting serves as a crucial platform for the government to review its stabilization program, learn from past experiences, and improve resource allocation and service delivery in liberated areas.
As security forces continue to secure new territories, the government remains committed to reaching more communities and ensuring the long-term stability and development of the nation.
