Riyadh — Somalia’s Minister of Finance, Bihi Imaan Igeh, held a high-level meeting with Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), as part of efforts to strengthen economic cooperation between the two nations.
During the meeting, the Somali delegation presented a range of investment opportunities available in Somalia, emphasizing the country’s potential for economic growth and partnership.
Officials confirmed that the discussions will continue at a technical level, where priority sectors will be examined in detail, with the aim of paving the way for enhanced development cooperation and large-scale investments.
Minister Biixi was accompanied by Hodan Aden Osman, Chair of Somalia’s Reconstruction and Development Bank, Mohamed Ali Nur “Americo,” Director of the Port of Mogadishu, and senior diplomats from the Somali Embassy in Saudi Arabia, led by the chargé d’affaires, Abdiaziz Ibrahim Hassan.
The talks mark a significant step toward deepening bilateral ties and mobilizing resources for Somalia’s rebuilding efforts as the government seeks strategic partnerships to boost infrastructure, trade, and economic recovery.
