The Special Forces of the Somali National Army (SNA), known as Danab, have conducted n a planned operation in Jilib-Marka, Lower Shabelle region this morning.
The Danab command said the operation was set Al-Shabaab bases on fire and dislodged militants who were planning to carry out a car bomb explosion to harass civilians, according to the statement.
The troops destroyed a SURF vehicle filled with explosives plotted for an attack in Mogadishu, officials said.
Danab said they also destroyed al-Shabaab bases in Jilib-Marka, where al-Shabaab had completely withdrawn before the arrival of the Somali troops.
