MOGADISHU, Somalia – Sheikh Adan Madobe, the Speaker of the House of the People in the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia, welcomed Wang Yu, the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, in his office today.
The meeting was also attended by other diplomats from the Chinese embassy.
Ambassador Wang Yu expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, marking his first ambassadorship in Africa. He emphasized his commitment to enhancing the bilateral relations between China and Somalia, stating his readiness to support both the Somali government and its people.
In response, Speaker Sheikh Adan Madobe thanked the People’s Republic of China for its consistent support towards Somalia. He highlighted the profound relationship between the two nations, which spans across various sectors.
The Speaker praised the existing strong ties, particularly between the legislative bodies of both countries. He affirmed that future collaborations would focus on sharing parliamentary knowledge and experiences, aiming to further deepen the cooperation between Somalia and China.
