MOGADISHU, Somalia – In yet another significant step towards enhancing the country’s educational system, the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamsa Abdi Barre, inaugurated the 2023-2024 unified High School National Examination.
This year, more than 37,000 students across Somalia will participate in the examination, marking a significant milestone in the country’s educational development.
During the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Barre praised the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for their efforts in developing a modern examination system. He emphasized that education is one of the top priorities of the Somali government, alongside security.
“Today is a great day that confirms one of the goals of the Somali people,” said Prime Minister Barre. “Education is a great goal that the government sees as a priority, like security. On the days when the exam is going on, we all have to be soldiers for the Ministry of Education and work with them to make the exam a success.”
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of community involvement in ensuring the success of the examination process. He urged the Somali community to support the Ministry of Education and the security forces in their efforts to facilitate a smooth and secure examination process.
This year’s national examination is particularly significant as it will be held in different cities where it has not been held before. This expansion of the examination centers is a testament to the government’s commitment to providing educational opportunities to students across the country.
