NO. 50, Lower Shabelle – Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre joined soldiers and residents for the Eid al-Fitr prayer on Saturday morning at the No. 50 area in the Lower Shabelle region.
After the prayer, Prime Minister Barre expressed his gratitude to the local community for their unity in defending their territory against Al-Shabaab. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among the Somali people to liberate the entire country, particularly the areas in Lower Shabelle where militants remain active.
“Today, we are here to demonstrate unity and work together to eliminate the militants who are present in our communities. We need your support to succeed,” Prime Minister Barre said.
He praised the sacrifices of the Somali National Army, acknowledging their role in safeguarding the nation and its citizens. The Prime Minister called for continued efforts from both the military and the people to combat the militants and restore peace to Somalia.
“It is crucial that the Somali people, both in this region and across the country, stand firm against the enemies of our nation. This requires cooperation and mutual support to ensure peace and stability,” he added.
Prime Minister Barre also reaffirmed the Somali government’s commitment to strengthening security and stability throughout the country, stating that the fight against militants would continue until Somalia is free and prosperous.
