MOGADISHU, Somalia — In a diplomatic encounter highlighting Somalia’s international engagement, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre met with Heiko Nitzschke, Germany’s Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, to discuss deepening cooperation and celebrate recent achievements on Somalia’s path to stability and international integration.
Nitzschke congratulated Somalia on several milestones, including securing debt relief, joining the East African Community, and being elected to serve on the United Nations Security Council for the 2025-2026 term.
