DOHA, Qatar – Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre met in Doha with Somali army officers who are in Qatar for training to improve their military knowledge and experience.
During Friday’s meeting, Hamza briefed the officials on the ongoing war in Somalia and the achievements of the government, including the capture of many areas from Al-Shabaab.
He said that the Somali people have high hopes for their army to liberate the entire country from Al-Shabaab, which he said has been an obstacle to the country’s state-building.
The Prime Minister said that the victory over Al-Shabaab is near, urging the officers to play their part in the struggle for the re-liberation efforts of the Horn of Africa country.
On the other hand, Hamza thanked Qatar for its commitment to continue supporting Somalia, especially the rebuilding of the SNA, economic infrastructure, and humanitarian aid.
Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barri invited Qatari businessmen to visit Somalia and learn more about the investment opportunities in all economic sectors, especially in the fields of agriculture, livestock and fisheries.
During a meeting with the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) the Prime Minister of Somalia called on Qatari businessmen to invest in the agricultural and livestock sectors.
On June 28, Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre affirmed that Qatar is an important partner for Somalia, thanking it for its support in the reconstruction of the Government Presidency Building Project funded by the Qatar Fund for Development, during his inspection of the final stages of the project.
