KIGALI, Rwanda – Brigadier General Sulub Ahmed Firin, the Commander of the Somali Police Force, recently participated in a graduation ceremony for Somali police officers in Rwanda.
These officers have completed an intensive program of study, which included military leadership, administration and management, and peace and crisis management, culminating in a second-level degree from the University of Rwanda.
The graduation ceremony marked the culmination of a rigorous training program for the 34 Somali police officers, some of whom were joined by officers from various African countries.
The event highlighted the commitment of the Somali Police Force to enhance the skills and capabilities of its officers, ensuring they are well-equipped to address the complex security challenges facing the region.
The training program, which took place at the University of Rwanda, provided the officers with a comprehensive education in various aspects of policing, including leadership, management, and conflict resolution. This knowledge will be invaluable in their efforts to maintain peace and stability in Somalia and contribute to regional security cooperation.
During the ceremony, Brigadier General Sulub Ahmed Firin congratulated the graduates on their achievements and emphasized the importance of their newly acquired skills in the ongoing efforts to build a more secure and prosperous Somalia.
He also expressed gratitude to the University of Rwanda and the Rwandan government for their support in providing the training program.
