Mogadishu, Somalia — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met on Wednesday with a delegation led by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE State Minister for Foreign Affairs.
The UAE minister delivered a message from UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, reinforcing the commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and bilateral relations between the two nations.
The visit follows a recent phone conversation between the two presidents, during which they emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and mutual support between Somalia and the UAE.
President Mohamud expressed gratitude for the consistent support from the UAE government and people, acknowledging their role in Somalia’s development and the assistance provided to the Somali people.
For his part, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan thanked the Somali government for their warm welcome, reaffirming the UAE’s dedication to deepening the historical ties between the two countries. He also highlighted the importance of cooperation between Somalia and the UAE for the development and stability of the region.
