MOGADISHU, Somalia — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has expressed deep condolences following the death of Dr. Mohamed Yusuf Hassan, a prominent figure in Somalia’s healthcare sector in Mogadishu on Friday.
Dr. Mohamed, who served as chairman of the National Health Professionals Council (NHPC), passed away in Mogadishu, leaving behind a lasting legacy of service to the Somali people.
In a statement, President Mohamud praised Dr. Mohamed’s immense contributions to the country’s healthcare system, calling him a pillar of the health community who dedicated his life to improving public health. “Dr. Mohamed Yusuf Hassan played a major role in saving the Somali community and mentoring generations of skilled healthcare professionals,” President Mohamud said.
