Somali President Reviews Government Performance in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud conducted a detailed review of the Dan Qaran Government’s performance over the past two years in a presentation held in Mogadishu on Saturday night.

 

The event, which aimed to highlight the government’s achievements and commitment to transparency, was attended by key political figures including the speakers of both Houses of the Federal Parliament, the Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, and Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama.

During the review, various government institutions presented their accomplishments across multiple sectors. The security sector reported significant progress in counter-terrorism efforts, particularly against Al-Shabaab, although challenges persist. In the realm of justice, reforms were outlined to enhance legal access and reduce corruption.

Economic development was another focal point, with the government detailing infrastructure projects, agricultural support, and economic stabilization efforts. The international relations sector showcased Somalia’s enhanced diplomatic ties and increased foreign aid.

President Mohamud emphasized the government’s dedication to rebuilding Somalia, stating, “Our journey towards stability and prosperity is a collective effort.” He invited public feedback, encouraging citizens to engage through various platforms to contribute to future policy-making.
