Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, May 31 – Somalia’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Sheikh Mukhtar Robow Abu Mansur, is currently in Saudi Arabia to oversee the welfare of Somali pilgrims performing Hajj this year, the ministry announced Friday.
Speaking during his visit, Robow stated that Somali pilgrims are receiving better services than in previous years, and that the cost of performing Hajj has now become comparable to that of neighboring countries.
“This year, our pilgrims are experiencing improved conditions and more efficient services, and the expenses are significantly reduced compared to previous years,” the minister said.
His remarks come amid broader efforts by the Ministry of Religious Affairs to enhance support systems for Somali pilgrims. In recent months, the ministry has undertaken strong initiatives to ensure better services throughout the Hajj season.
Robow is expected to meet with Saudi officials and Hajj service providers to further discuss the welfare of Somali pilgrims and ensure their needs are fully met during their stay in Mecca and Medina.
