MOGADISHU [SMN] – The security forces of the federal government of Somalia, especially the security forces last night carried out an operation in parts of Shibis district in Banadir region.
The operation was planned to ensure the general security of the district.
Officials leading the investigation have announced that they will continue the operation in the four Shibis constituencies.
The sources added that a number of people, mostly youths, were arrested during the operation, most of whom were released after being questioned by the military.
In the past, Somali government forces have intensified their operations in the capital, Mogadishu, ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
