Somali, U.S. Military Leaders Meet to Strategize Against Al-Shabaab

MOGADISHU, Somalia — The commander of the Somali National Army, General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhuddin, met with Colonel David Haskell, the Special Operations Commander of U.S. forces, to discuss intensifying efforts against the militant group Al-Shabaab, sources confirmed.

 

The high-level talks primarily focused on devising a comprehensive war plan aimed at liberating territories still under Al-Shabaab control within Somalia. General Muhuddin emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating the operations must commence without delay to eradicate the insurgents from their strongholds.

During the meeting, both leaders agreed on the necessity of swift military action. General Muhuddin underscored the importance of U.S. support in this critical phase, expressing gratitude for the ongoing collaboration and reinforcing Somalia’s commitment to purge Al-Shabaab from its soil.
