MOGADISHU — The commander of the Somali National Army, Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, has extended heartfelt congratulations to members of the Somali Custodial Corps as they mark the 56th anniversary of their establishment.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the commander praised all ranks of the custodial corps — including senior officers, officers, non-commissioned officers and rank-and-file personnel — for their service, speaking on behalf of the leadership of the Somali National Army.
“I send my sincere congratulations, in my name and on behalf of the Somali National Army command, to all members of the Somali Custodial Corps celebrating the 56th anniversary of their founding,” he said.
He commended the corps for its vital role in maintaining security, overseeing detainees, and managing prison facilities across the country.
The army chief also expressed hope for the continued development of the custodial forces and wished them lasting peace and progress in carrying out their duties.
