DJIBOUTI – Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre held a productive meeting with his Djiboutian counterpart Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed to discuss enhancing bilateral ties between Somalia and Djibouti.
According to a statement by the office of the Somali PM, Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening brotherly relations for the mutual benefit and progress of the two brotherly countries.
“Had a fruitful meeting with my brother, Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed of Djibouti. We discussed how we can further strengthen the strong bond between our two brotherly nations Somalia and Djibouti,” said Somali PM in X post.
Together, we will create a brighter future for our people in Somalia and Djibouti, he added.
Tuesday’s meeting came after PM Barre delivered a powerful speech at the opening of the Heritage Institute annual conference, emphasizing the significance of promoting dialogue, conciliation, and peace in the region.
Djibouti is one of the countries that have contributed troops to the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), which is supporting the Somali army in the fight against Al-Shabaab.
