Somalia–Pakistan Boost Disaster Response Cooperation

Somalia’s disaster management chief visited Pakistan this week to strengthen cooperation, meeting officials at the National Disaster Management Authority headquarters in Islamabad.

Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, chairman of the Somali Disaster Management Agency, was received by NDMA chief Gen. Inam Haider Malik during official meetings.

The officials discussed disaster preparedness, exchanged technical expertise, and reviewed Pakistan’s systems as Somalia works to build a national framework for resilience.

Both sides agreed to expand sustained cooperation through knowledge sharing and collaboration, aiming to strengthen disaster response for communities in both countries.
