MOGADISHU – Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre returned to Mogadishu on Friday following official visits to China and Serbia aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties.
During his trip to China, Barre attended the 7th China-Arab States Expo, where he delivered a speech promoting investment opportunities in Somalia.
He also held meetings with senior Chinese officials to discuss bilateral cooperation and encourage Chinese investment in key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and agriculture.
Barre later traveled to Serbia on a state visit, where he was received with full honors in the capital, Belgrade. He met with his Serbian counterpart, Duro Macut, at the presidential palace.
The two leaders discussed enhancing bilateral relations, trade cooperation, and diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
The visits are part of Somalia’s broader efforts to expand its international partnerships and attract foreign investment as the country works toward economic recovery and stability.
