Somalia’s Deputy PM Discusses Stabilization Efforts with Hirshabelle President

MOGADISHU, Somalia – In a significant step towards regional stabilization, Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Salah Ahmed Jama, convened a high-level meeting with Ali Gudlawe Hussein, President of the Hirshabelle State, at the Prime Minister’s office in Mogadishu.

 

The focus of the meeting was on enhancing the delivery of essential services in the Hirshabelle region, evaluating ongoing projects, and discussing the broader implications of the stabilization program.

The discussions also touched on the needs of the local populace, particularly those affected by conflicts with Al-Shabaab.

President Hussein shared insights from his recent visit across Hirshabelle, where he assessed the conditions in newly liberated areas, emphasizing the importance of observing firsthand the challenges faced by the residents.

Deputy Prime Minister Jama underscored the government’s commitment to providing fundamental services like education, healthcare, clean water, and the establishment of local administrative and security structures to foster stability and development in the region.

This meeting marks a concerted effort by the Somali government to address the immediate and long-term needs of the Hirshabelle population, aiming to rebuild and stabilize the area post-conflict.
