MOGADISHU, Oct 21, 2025 – Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Salah Jama paid a working visit to the Ministry of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing in Mogadishu, where he inspected key development projects and was briefed on the ministry’s ongoing efforts to rebuild national infrastructure.
Jama was warmly received by Minister of Public Works, Dr. Elmi Mahmoud Nur, Deputy Minister Mohamed Hussein Gaaraxo, Director-General Farah Abdinur Ahmed, and other senior officials overseeing various departments and national projects.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister reviewed several infrastructure initiatives, including the flagship “Nagaad Project,” which focuses on the construction of roads and water reservoirs across multiple regions of the country.
The project is a central component of the government’s post-conflict recovery and economic development agenda.
The ministry also presented detailed reports and video briefings highlighting its contributions to the “Dan-Qaran” (National Interest) programme, a federal initiative aimed at boosting economic infrastructure and improving access to essential public services.
Speaking at the event, Minister Elmi Mahmoud Nur thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for his visit and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the full implementation of the government’s infrastructure pledges under the Dan-Qaran programme.
