MOGADISHU, Somalia — The National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting, under the presidency of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, continues today at the Presidential Palace in Mogadishu, marking its fourth consecutive day.

The sessions have transitioned into more focused side meetings and discussions led by technical committees, aimed at advancing the core objectives of the council.

President Mohamud has been at the helm of these discussions, although he was temporarily without the President of Hirshabelle, Ali Gudlawe, who attended the region’s anniversary celebrations. Gudlawe is anticipated to return for tomorrow’s final day of discussions.

Abdirahman Hudeyfi, speaking on behalf of the presidency, expressed optimism about the proceedings, stating, “The NCC meetings are progressing smoothly, without any obstacles, and we expect a joint political agreement and significant resolutions related to Somalia’s state-building endeavours to be announced soon.”

The council, comprising key political figures from across Somalia, is expected to wrap up its deliberations by tomorrow, potentially setting the stage for important announcements on the nation’s governance and state-building efforts.
