New York, NY — Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre of the Federal Republic of Somalia will lead a high-level delegation to New York City this week for the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, taking place from September 12 to 27, 2024.
The theme of this year’s assembly, “Leaving No One Behind,” underscores a commitment to global cooperation for peace, sustainable development, and the protection of human dignity across generations.
During the session, Prime Minister Barre is set to address the assembly, focusing on the significant role Africa plays in global politics and development. He will advocate for unity and diversity as essential elements in achieving sustainable peace and development worldwide.
