MOGADISHU, Nov 1, 2025 – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Saturday congratulated Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan on her re-election, praising her leadership and the confidence shown by Tanzanian voters.
In a statement issued by Villa Somalia, Mohamud said Suluhu’s victory reflected the trust and respect she enjoys among Tanzanians and underscored her commitment to stability and progress in East Africa.
“I extend my warm congratulations to President Samia Suluhu Hassan on her re-election,” Mohamud said. “Her success is a testament to the confidence the people of Tanzania have in her leadership and her efforts toward national development. Somalia looks forward to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between our two nations in pursuit of peace and prosperity in the region.”
Mohamud highlighted the historical ties between Somalia and Tanzania, noting that the two countries share a longstanding relationship based on mutual respect, trade, and regional cooperation.
Tanzania and Somalia are both active members of the East African regional bloc, with their governments working together on peace, security, and economic integration across the Horn and East Africa.
