KAMPALA, Uganda — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, on Wednesday, where he was warmly received by Ugandan officials.
President Mohamud held talks with his Ugandan counterpart, President Yoweri Museveni, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of security, economic cooperation, and the joint fight against terrorism.
Following the meeting, President Mohamud is scheduled to travel to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, later today to attend an extraordinary summit addressing the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The Dar es Salaam summit aims to reinforce efforts to resolve the escalating violence in the region. Somalia emphasized its commitment to full cooperation and support for peace and development across the region.
