Somalia’s Prime Minister Hosts Palestinian Ambassador to Strengthen Ties

MOGADISHU, Somalia — On Sunday, Hamza Abdi Barre, the prime minister of the federal government of Somalia, welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine, Rowaid Adil Mohamed, to his office in the state house in Mogadishu.

 

The meeting came after the ambassador along with other 7 diplomats recently presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the president of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

During their meeting, the focus was on enhancing the fraternal bonds between Somalia and Palestine. Prime Minister Barre congratulated Ambassador Mohamed on his appointment and reiterated Somalia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, highlighting the Palestinian right to freedom and independence.

He also affirmed that Somalia does not support the displacement of Palestinians.

In response, Ambassador Mohamed expressed gratitude for Somalia’s consistent backing of Palestine, noting the deep and brotherly relationship between the two nations.

He committed to working towards further strengthening bilateral cooperation and relations.
