MOGADISHU, Somalia — The third Somali Scholars’ Conference entered its third day on Wednesday in Mogadishu, bringing together religious leaders, academics, and government officials to discuss the role of good governance in national stability and social development.
Organized by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the conference featured panel discussions on security, including recent successes by the Somali National Army in countering extremist groups.
Participants examined how these achievements could be leveraged to strengthen overall national security.
The event was attended by Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Sheikh Muqtaar Roobow, members of both houses of the Federal Parliament, and prominent religious scholars from inside and outside the country.
Delegates engaged actively, posing questions to scholars, professors, and experts participating in the sessions.
The conference is expected to continue over the coming days, with organizers aiming to produce recommendations and policy guidance to promote effective governance, community development, and peacebuilding across Somalia.
