BELEDWEYNE [SMN] – A delegation led by the infantry Commander of the Somali National Army General Mohamed Tahliil Bihi has arrived in Beledweyne, the capital of the Hiran region.
Officials including Hiran Governor Ali Jeyte Osman Commander of the 27th Division General Taredisho and other officials welcomed the Commander and other officers at Ugas Khalif Airport in Beledweyne.
Commander Bihi thanked the officials and administrators of the Hiran region for the warm welcome extended to him at the airport, while the regional administration stated that the arrival of the Commander was much needed, to further strengthen the peace efforts to liberate the Hiran region from Al-Shabaab.
The Commander of the Somali National Army, General Mohamed Tahliil Bihi, also held a meeting to resolve the dispute between the Hiraan regional administration and General Abukar Warsame Hud.
Beledweyne is one of the towns hosting the election of the members of the 11th parliament.
Beledweyne, the capital of the Hiran region, has been the scene of a series of deadly clashes between government forces and Al-Shabaab militants in recent days.
