MOGADISHU, Somalia – A deafening explosion was heard on Friday in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, shortly after the country’s spy agency said it detained Al-Shabaab weapons smuggler.
The blast was carried out by a man wearing a suicide vest, who detonated himself at a restaurant near Sayidka junction, a heavily fortified green zone, where the parliament headquarters and presidential palace are located.
