MOGADISHO, Somalia – The leader of the SSC-Khaatumo regional government, Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw-Cali (Firdhiye), visited the President of Galmudug, Ahmed Abdi Karie (Qoor Qoor), in a meeting that served as both a courtesy call and a political consultation.

During the meeting in Mogadishu, the two regional leaders engaged in an in-depth discussion on key national issues, particularly the upcoming National Consultative Council (NCC) summit set to take place soon in the capital after two-time delays.

Both leaders, currently in the capital, exchanged views on the agenda for the summit, including constitutional review, national security, and the development of state institutions, according to insiders.

Firdhiye expressed his gratitude to President Qoor Qoor for the warm welcome and praised Galmudug’s commitment to fostering full cooperation between all regional governments and the federal government.

He also reaffirmed SSC-Khaatumo’s intention to play a significant role in the country’s political process, marking Firdhiye’s first participation in the NCC summit since the establishment of his administration in 2023.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Cadaala, who stated that such dialogues play a crucial role in strengthening unity and trust among Somali leaders.
