GALKAYO, Somalia – Puntland’s Minister of Finance, Mohamed Farah Mahmoud, has called on citizens across the region to unite and actively contribute to the state’s development, including infrastructure building, economic growth, and the fight against armed groups.

Speaking to reporters during a working visit to northern Galkayo, a city under Puntland’s administration, the minister stressed the importance of collective action in advancing the region’s progress and stability.

“I urge the people of Puntland to work together for the betterment of their communities – to help build roads, strengthen security, boost the economy, and support efforts to liberate areas under enemy control,” he said.

Mahmoud emphasized the need for solidarity among Puntland residents, noting that unity is essential for achieving lasting development and safeguarding regional interests.

His remarks come as Puntland intensifies its push to invest in critical infrastructure, including transportation networks and public services, aimed at improving internal connectivity and accelerating economic growth in the autonomous northeastern region.
